This morning, October 21, 2014 at approximately 7:03 a.m. Lansing Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of S. Pennsylvania in regard to shots fired. The caller advised dispatch they herd several shots being fired in the rear parking lot area of the hospital (2727 S. Pennsylvania).
Quickly arriving Officers located two individuals down and unresponsive in the rear East parking lot with apparent gunshot wounds. The female, Bessie Saline Rodriguez, a 43 year old Lansing woman, was transported to a nearby hospital and was pronounced deceased. The male, A 44 year old Lansing man, Johnnie Conner, Jr., was pronounced deceased on scene. Officers located and recovered a firearm believed to be used in the parking lot near the male deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting to be a Murder/Suicide with the male being the shooter. Police are confident there are no other outstanding individuals unaccounted for. No other injuries were reported and no crime occurred with in the hospital building.
