News Spotlight: Public Asked to Help Identify Unknown Female

 

JACKSON, MI — The identity of a Jane Doe found in 1978 remains a mystery today after 35 years.  The Michigan State Police (MSP) Jackson Post is again asking the public for help in identifying the unknown victim.
 
The unidentified body was found on Aug. 29, 1978, on Clear Lake Road, north of I-94 in Waterloo Township, Grass Lake, Mich.  The victim’s body was found in a garbage bag and is believed to have been dumped on the side of the road at approximately 9:20 a.m. that morning.  Another deceased female victim was also found that morning and was identified in 1978 as being from the Detroit area.
 
The unidentified victim is believed to be an African American female who was between 28 and 40 years old at her death.  She was approximately 5’3” to 5’7’ tall, weighed 130 pounds and wore an auburn, wavy, collar-length wig.  Detectives believe the victim may be from the metro Detroit area.
