News Spotlight: Quality Dairy Armed Robbery Suspect Apprehended

 

Accused Erica Abell,  32-year-old, resident of Holt, Michigan has been arrested by Lansing Police Department (LPD) in reference the below armed robberies.
Arraigned on September 1, 2012 by Magistrate Pahl, 3-count Armed Robbery warrants. Bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety. 

 LPD Detective Lee McCallister followed a host of evidence which led to the accused, including, tips received after the local airing of Crime Stoppers. Captain Daryl Green stated “The LPD credits this arrest to the LPD Investigations Division and its great partnership with the media, Crime Stoppers and a community that cares.” The female accused was taken into custody without incident at her residence in Holt Michigan, she will be arraigned in District 54-Court. 

3 Armed Robberies of Quality Dairy (500 E. Saginaw, 400 S. Pennsylvania, and 700 N. Pine St) 
 
1. Armed Robbery 500 block of E. Saginaw St on August 27, 2012 at 04:05 a.m. – Female accused description (white female, approximately 30 years old, 5’3”/medium build, reddish blond hair) wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered the store requesting cigarettes. The accused then advised that she had a weapon. No weapon was seen but was firmly indicated. The female accused took a small amount of money from the cashier and fled the scene. The accused left the scene in a black sedan, possibly a Buick of which was driven by a white male driver with a brown beard and white tank top shirt. No one was injured reference this incident. 
 
 
2. Armed Robbery 400 S Pennsylvania Ave on August 27, 2012 at 5:35 – Female accused description (white female, 25-30 years old, 4’6”/130-140, shoulder length blond hair, blue eyes and wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, dark shorts and sandal type shoes). The accused entered the store asking for cigarettes. The accused then stated “give me the money” and threatened to shoot the cashier if he used the telephone. The cashier provided the accused with a small amount of cash and she fled the scene to a waiting vehicle. No one was injured reference this incident. 
 
3. On August 27, 2012 at 10:36 p.m. Officers responded to an armed robbery at the Quality Dairy at 700 N Pine St. A female entered the store indicating that she had a handgun. The accused demanded money from the cashier who provided a small amount of cash from the register. The accused then fled the scene, no one was injured. The LPD Investigations Division has several strong leads for this case and are assessing if they are related to two other recent robberies. The accused was described as a White female, 5’7”/unknown build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, tan short and seen leaving the scene in a white van with a male passenger.
