News Spotlight: See what health inspectors found at restaurants in Michigan

LANSING, MI — The Environmental Health Division licenses and inspects over 1,000 food service establishments within Ingham County alone. These establishments include restaurants, hospital and university canteens and mobile units.  We have a list here of all of the counties: 

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that annually one in six of the American population (or 48 million people) become ill and 3,000 die from diseases attributed to contaminated food or beverages. 

The purpose of the Environmental Health Divisions activities are to mitigate the risk posed by food-borne diseases through an effective establishment inspection program and food service education & training.
