Knitters from Mid-Michigan will gather from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011, to knit together and make items to benefit young adults at Child and Family Services of Lansing. The Knit-a-Thon will be held at Perspective2, 319 East Grand River Ave. in Lansing, Michigan’s Old Town.
The Mid-Michigan Knitting Guild and the Peace Education Center have joined together with Perspective2 in organizing and sponsoring this event. The public is invited.
Beginners are welcome and basic help, simple patterns, and some supplies will be available, but knitters are also encouraged to bring their own yarn (cotton or superwash wool) and tools (#7 or #8 needles) if they have them.
Participants can add a few rows to a communally knitted scarf during the event that will be raffled off to a lucky winner. Door prizes and scarf raffle winner will be announced at 3:45 p.m. – need not be present to win.
Hot beverages and snacks will be provided to warm the knitters.
