According to the Lansing Police Department (LPD) on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at approximately 7:15 p.m. they were dispatched to an accident in the 900 block of Vincent Ct. involving a single motorcycle and no other vehicles. Dispatch advised responding officers there was a non-responsive female lying near the crash site.
Upon arrival officers made contact with a non-responsive female and several witnesses. The female was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. Several witnesses stated the male driver of the motorcycle left prior to police arrival.
Officers on scene investigation were able establish the identity of the driver. Officers went to a nearby location and made contact with the driver, a 27 year old Lansing man. Officers arrested the driver without incident and transported to a local hospital for treatment on non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the motorcycle was traveling East on Vincent Ct. and lost control prior to the dead-end of the street. Lansing police accident investigation team is currently working this case and will determine the sequence of events that led up to the crash. At this point in the investigation, it has not been established if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident, however are not ruling it out.
The deceased female passenger has been identified as Michelle Lynn Stickney a 41 year old Lansing woman.
Detectives and officers will ultimately complete detailed reports and submit to the Ingham County Prosecutor seeking multiple charges ranging from Misdemeanor to Felony. As always, if anyone has information with regard to this case, please call the Lansing Police at 517-483-4600.
