TNCPCAN Resource Guide: Advancing Healthy Births – Third Annual Gun Buyback at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Lansing will host its third annual Gun Buyback event. Starting at 11 a.m. in the church parking lot at 6500 Amwood Drive, residents can safely dispose of firearms and receive cash in return.

Participants will receive $100 for each pistol, shotgun, and .22 caliber rifle and $200 for all other types of rifles. All firearms must be in working order to be eligible for payment. Those wishing to turn in weapons are asked to place their unloaded firearms in the trunk of their car. Representatives from the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office and Lansing Police Department will retrieve the weapons and check their serial numbers before payment.

Each car is limited to a maximum of two weapons. All collected firearms will be destroyed, ensuring none of the parts are reused. The event will continue until the allocated funds are exhausted. This initiative aims to reduce the number of firearms in the community and promote safety in the Lansing area.
