New Young Fathers.com (NYF) announces that its original Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder, Andre’ Dandridge will be resigning from his position of CEO on April 1, 2013, and will change roles to the position of Treasurer of Board of Directors. Mr. Dandridge has served as the CEO of the organization since its inception in 2008.
Mr. Dandridge acknowledges the need for another qualified, passionate professional to lead the Michigan based organization: “My role in the organization is changing and I will no longer be in a position to meet the demands of Chief Executive Officer.
NewYoungFathers.com needs leadership that can relate to life as a young father and that is qualified to manage a nonprofit corporation.”
Accepting the role as new CEO of NYF on April 1, 2013 is the current Treasurer of the organization, Rahman Shareef, who has served as Treasurer since 2010. In addition to managing the fiscal duties of NYF, Mr. Shareef has also assisted in strategic planning, grant research/writing, and facilitating NYF workshops. Mr. Shareef is also employed in his full-time work, as the Public Relations Coordinator for the Ingham County Department of Transportation and Roads, and has worked for the agency for 11 years. He is a native of Lansing, Michigan (where NYF is headquartered) and he is an M.B.A. graduate from Davenport University. Mr. Shareef also earned a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Davenport University and a B.A. degree in Community Services from Siena Heights University. “It is indeed an honor to accept this new role as CEO of our organization committed to young fathers,” he said. “It is a great responsibility and privilege to serve in this capacity to continue the great work that Andre’ Dandridge has built. I look forward to working together and more closely with our entire team to take NYF to the next level to serve more young fathers.”
Both Mr. Dandridge and Mr. Shareef became young fathers at young ages and offer their lives as a testimony to young fathers that they can succeed in life as a responsible young father.
The mission of NYF is to empower young men under the age of 25 to become responsible fathers through the provision of community outreach programs, support, media and educational materials that serve to offer parenting skills, life skills, guidance and education. Since 2010, NYF has served thousands of young fathers through the means of their educational workshops throughout Michigan, their website and educational materials that are available now to the international community.
