The United States is jubilant over the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. However, it will be some time before history catches up with the mythology that arose around him and the al-Qaeda organization in the past 10 years. Osama bin Laden at the end was far from the looming powerful figure he was made out to be. He had outlived his usefulness both as a bogeyman for the West, and as an Islamic responder to the neo-colonialist forces his organization purported to confront.

DETROIT, MI – What?!!!
That was my first reaction when I looked at the price of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata that had been delivered for my one-week test drive. It was like, ‘c’mon,’ I hadn’t even been in the car. Still, it looked as though it cost a lot more than the $21,050 that was on the sticker.

Q: I work in the emergency room of our local hospital, and to be honest, I’m about burned out. I get very discouraged because most of the people who come here are here because of their own bad decisions – too much drinking, drugs, fighting, you name it. We patch them up, but two weeks later they’re back. Why bother? Should I change careers? – K.J.
Dear Readers,
My daily morning grind begins with checking my Facebook page. It is like waking up, driving to the deli, being served tea and indulging in conversations about the news and politics of the week. The best part about Facebook is that you can have multiple conversations at one time. For multitaskers like myself, this is amazing.
