Knitters from Mid-Michigan will gather from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011, to knit together and make items to benefit young adults at Child and Family Services of Lansing. The Knit-a-Thon will be held at Perspective2, 319 East Grand River Ave. in Lansing, Michigan’s Old Town.
LANSING, MI — The 2011 Promoting Active Communities Assessment has been launched! The PAC assessment is a free online tool that helps communities assess their built environment, policies and programs related to active living. Any city, village, township, or charter township in Michigan is eligible to register; all communities must register by June 15, 2011.

After the earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010, many orphans and school children were brought to Maxeau Balthazar’s yard in Port-au-Prince . Mr. Balthazar’s home was an obvious safe place to go because he had previously created a humanitarian services organization in Haiti.
