LANSING, MI – A new exhibit juxtaposing the work of art teacher Jacquie Vaughan with those of her students at Lansing’s Shabazz Public School Academy will be displayed February 8 through April 25, 2009 at the Michigan Women’s Historical Center. A free public reception for the exhibit, entitled “Potpourri,” is scheduled for Sunday, February 8 at the historical center from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

I do not like snow. I especially do not care for cold weather. Once I get cold I do not warm up until spring. The coldest activity I have consented to is cold sitting with a shotgun on my lap, otherwise known as deer hunting. At least while I am doing that I am in a hunting blind with a heater.

BPRW) History was made recently, when 39-year-old Tyler Perry became the first African-American ever to launch his own major TV and film studio. The sprawling complex, which includes more than 200,000 square feet of studio and office space and sits on 30 acres that once housed Delta Air Lines’ finance, reservation and computer center. Perry will shoot his TBS sitcoms House of Payne and Meet the Browns along with other film projects at the studio, reports the Associated Press.
