I’d like to say Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers and surrogate mothers. I’d also like to say Happy Mother’s Day to my mother, Deloris Stokes Risper. This is still a special day and even though my mother is no longer here, I still want to honor her because she brought me into this world.
My mother also raised me the right way, which allowed me to understand the importance of “motherhood”. I learned to respect and acknowledge women from my mother. She taught me to love and accept women for all that they and all that they do.
With that said I would like to salute my wife, Rina, who is the mother of “all” of my children. To her I say thank you for being a positive role model for my daughter, Anissa. My mother would have been proud of my wife. I can hear her saying, “Frankie, you did good”.
I feel very good knowing that my daughter has the mother that she does. My wife understands the concept of giving back to her community and beyond. The way that my wife treats others will be passed on to my daughter, who I believe will grow up to be a mother, leader and difference maker in this world. It’s my dream that our legacy will be passed on from one generation to the next. The power that women possess is phenomenal.
Remember to keep the faith, trust in God only and seek after a pure heart. God will be pleased.
