The WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) list is a public record of companies that have submitted notifications of large-scale layoffs or plant closures under the federal WARN Act.

This law requires certain employers to provide 60 days’ notice to employees and state workforce agencies before significant workforce reductions or facility shutdowns. The purpose is to give workers time to seek alternative employment or training opportunities. In Michigan, you can access the WARN list through the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity’s website at milmi.org.

For other states, WARN notices are typically posted by each state’s Department of Labor or workforce development agency—simply search “[Your State Name] WARN notices” online to find your state’s listings.
