UPDATE:
The Lansing Police Department identified the victim as 32-year-old Dominick Hopson. The age of the victim was originally reported as 22 years old.
On September 13, 2022, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Lansing Police officers responded to a report of shots fired, in the 100 Block of East Barnes Avenue. While officers were en route the call was updated to a man down in the street. Upon officers’ arrival, they located a 22-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Witnesses were located on the scene and Lansing Police Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are still investigating this incident to determine more details of the events leading up to the shooting. Updates and additional information will be made available as it is obtained.
