We Remember: Pam Dutcher – September 17, 1958 – October 19, 2024

Pam Dutcher was barely 66 when she died in Lansing, Michigan, on October 19th.  She was a fighter, winning health battles in her adult years with leukemia, heart disease, and many other health issues. She held to her father’s motto, “We Dutchers don’t give up!”

Pam was a fine artist first and, later, a graphic designer. She loved her work, and also she loved to garden.  She always freely shared her baked goods and homegrown vegetables with those around her in Walnut Neighborhood.  Pam also had a calling to rescue stray cats in the neighborhood. She has saved dozens of cats in her lifetime, especially starving pregnant cats.   Pam neutered each adult cat and found good homes for the cats and their kittens.  She also fed the cats in the neighborhood, and with each new stray, she created relationships with them.

She was also a good friend to many people. Pam was always willing to help others. Her surviving family members are her brother, Ron Dutcher, her sister, Judy Jackson, and nieces and nephews.

Pam’s funeral will be held at the graveside of Evergreen Cemetery, Frost Township, at the corner of N. Harrison Ave. and Birch Road on Saturday, November 9th, at 1:00 p.m.  If you can attend, please feel free to call or text 214-458-7334.

Publisher’s Note: Pam was the type of neighbor who shared from porch to porch.  She was the best yeller from across the street.  My fondest memories were during corn season when she told you you needed to get some cobs from her favorite farm.  She will be missed.
