E. LANSING, MI — Michigan State University, WQHH 96.5, J.G. Entertainment, Dino’s Barbershop, Meijer and The New Citizens Press sponsored over 130 underprivileged families this holiday season.
Meijer located at 1350 W. Lake Lansing Rd. was full of shoppers and helpers recently. Willie Moore who works at the Centennial Wireless store inside of Meijer. Mr. Moore said that he was sitting and watching people who were a part of the shopping sprees, pick out gifts and food for themselves and family members. He was visibly touched by the outpouring of kindness.
“It amazed me that there are still people who really want to make a difference. You all made it happen today. I saw the look of gratitude on the faces. They didn’t know what they would have done without the help that you gave them. You gave them hope. You have made a miracle happen for people who didn’t expect it,” said Morris.
After a prayer in front of the families and volunteers, coordinator, Joshua Gillespie said, “This was great but next year we want this event to be bigger. We are doing this so that you can give back when you are able to.”
