In recent years, modeling shows and modeling contest that attract hopefuls from all over the nation are the “reality television show rage”. One of the most popular shows is Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model. Tyra.com is holding an exclusive America’s Next Top Model search just for those young hopefuls. Now there is a chance for perspectives to be seen by Tyra without the long lines. Tyra has turned to the internet and will be personally viewing all the girls who apply. What is at stake is a trip to California to be on the show. She said that she wants to see the Fiercely Real (plus sized) to the “straight” (skinny) models.
Here’s what you have to do to be in the running for the Tyra.com top model search.
You have to be:
• 18 – 27 years old
• 5’7” or taller
• a U.S. Citizen
• And apply by Midnight (EST) on March 30th
Four photos need to be submitted to www.tyra.com (in a swimsuit): Head to toe, head to hips, face forward and a shoulder up profile.
Old Navy is currently have a different type of model search. You know, those model mannequins from the Old Navy commercials? Someone’s likeness could be starring in their next campaign.
The retail chain is holding the SuperModelquin Super Search contest: By taking part in a series of online challenges which test your plastic spokesmannequin skills, those who signed up get the chance to be molded, as well as, walk away with $100,000.
Over six weeks, Oldnavy.com will hold a series of three challenges.
• “Pose with the Plastic Pros” (through Feb. 25): Prove your plastic prowess by taking a photo with the SuperModelquins in any Old Navy store and uploading it to the Super Search site.
• “Moldelquin Makeover” (March 4 to March 14): Build your plastic match online to be rated by voters.
• “Lights, Camera, Plastic” (March 21 to April 1): Create your own Old Navy commercial to show you have what it takes to be plastic.
The internet has become a lifeline for aspiring models. Even though it is too late to register for the Old Navy contest, Tyra.com is looking for models for their 15th season. America’s Next Top Model’s 14th cycle doesn’t premiere until March 10 (check your local listing). It should be interesting because Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Tally will be a judge, which will allow the show to become more high fashion oriented.
Beauty is in the eye of Tyra, so get out your camera and fire up your computer because she may possibly find the next fresh face in your neck of the woods.

She is a sophomore student at University of Colorado at Boulder majoring in studio arts. She wanted to be an artist, journalist and model before the contest.
