Pioneer Civitan’s Pro-Am Mini-Golf Tournament June 22-23 benefits Special Olympics

Which station anchor’s team will prevail in the 2013 Pioneer Civitan Pro-Am Miniature Golf Tournament, June 22-23 at FunTyme Adventure Park, 3484 James Philllips Dr., Okemos, one-half mile north of Okemos High School off Jolly Road? Amateurs can rally around TV-6’s Evan Pinsonnault  or TV-10’s Jason Colthorp for three-rounds of amateur putting on Saturday, June 22.
 
The station anchor’s team with the lowest overall 18-hole average over three rounds will win a traveling trophy for their favorite station anchor and his station. The top three low-scoring amateurs over three rounds will win donated gift baskets.
 
The ultimate winner will be Special Olympics Michigan, who will receive all proceeds after expenses. This allows intellectually disabled youth and adults to compete in team sports and learn life skills in teamwork and self-empowerment. Special Olympics athlete putters will also compete and win certificates of participation.
 
Pioneer Civitan is a volunteer service club that operates under the auspices of Civitan International, a 501 c 3 organization. A silent auction and chair massages will be held on Saturday, with the final pro rounds on Sunday. Top amateur awards will be awarded at 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

Registration is $20 for amateurs, and includes all three rounds. Each putter will receive a golf ball and T-shirt. Tournament underwriters include Dean Trailways, Duckett Enterprises, Kia of Lansing and the Greater Lansing Sports Authority.
