NEWS SPOTLIGHT: Ingham County Woman Arrested for Homicide, Child Abuse 1st degree and Torture

On February 29th 2016 the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team, arrested 43 year old Cari Ann Wright of Onondaga in connection with the death of her daughter, the late Hannah Warner, who died at age 16.

On November 17th, 2015 Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Onondaga home for a death investigation. Sheriff’s Office Detectives were notified, and began an investigation into allegations of child abuse, torture and homicide. These charges were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was authorized on Feb. 24 2016.

The defendant, Ms. Wright, is currently lodged at the Ingham County Jail charged with Felony Murder, Child Abuse 1st degree and Torture. These offenses are alleged to have occurred at the family’s home in Onondaga Township.

Wright has been denied bond, and her next court dates are a pre-exam conference on March 10 at 8:30 a.m., and a preliminary hearing on March 17 at 9:30 a.m. Each of these hearings will take place before Judge Thomas Boyd of the 55th District Court.
