On Tuesday,March 1, 2016 at approximately 5:22 A.M. Lansing Police were dispatched to the 3200 block of S. Washington (apartment complex) in regard to shots being fired/shooting. Dispatch updated responding Officers the shooting may be on the 5th floor of the apartment building.
Upon arrival Officers located a male (black male, approximately 20 yrs. old) in the 5th floor hallway deceased who had apparent gunshot wounds. Officers located a crime scene in an apartment on the 5th floor. Lansing Police have confirmed the victim’s identity as Terrance Tari Lewis, 25 years old, from Lansing, MI.
Officers and Detectives continue to process evidence, interview witnesses and follow leads. It is believed the victim and the suspect were some sort of acquaintance. The shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence and was isolated in the 5th floor apartment.
Lansing Police continue to investigate this homicide. No arrest have been made. Police encourage anyone with information to call 517-483-4600.
