Leaving

By Xiping Ren

She goes
with slow steps,
the night says,
and reluctantly,
the door is closed,
a lonely chair behind
a lamp post stands
the window watches,
there
a figure stays.

Dumpster Diamonds

for Katie, my dumpster diamond

    There
        are
          diamonds
             dancing
                by
           the
             dumpster.
                        Sparkling,                      twinkling,
             glittering,
        luminaries
            of
              light.
                        Moonlit,
                sixteen
            year
              old
        dumpster                   treasures.

    Shimmering,
                silhouettes,
           prancing,
              laughing,
        on
          a
           starlit
             sofa.

            Parking
       lot
        ballerinas
          pirouetting
            beauties
        of
          night.

            Dazzling,
      dumpster
        diamonds,
          precious
             midnight
               jewels
        of
         light.
