The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office has reported an incident involving an officer shooting in Roxand Township. This occurred on Thursday, January 11, around 1 p.m. Deputies, while assisting Charlotte Police Department’s active investigation, came across a white male suspect, considered armed and dangerous. The encounter took place near St. Joe Highway and Gates Road in Roxand Township. During this encounter, the suspect brandished a firearm, leading to the shooting by an officer.
The individual was hit by the gunfire. Eaton County deputies immediately provided first aid until paramedics arrived. The suspect was then taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, where he was later declared dead. There were no injuries reported among the officers.
The investigation of this incident has been handed over to the Michigan State Police at the request of the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office. As the investigation is ongoing, no additional details are available at the moment.
