The Board of Water and Light raised electric and water rates 2001-2003 and 2005. Water rates just increased 6.5% on July 1. Now the board is proposing a 1.5% increase for electric rates in September in order to generate an additional $1.5 million in revenues. Why so many increases?
LANSING, MI — The Mexican Consul, Vincente Sanchez-Ventura, will bring his Mobile Consulate Office to Cristo Rey Community Center located at 1717 North High Street on September 9, 2006 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Any Mexican citizen needing to renew a passport, or an ID card (Matriculas Consulares) may apply for one on this date at Cristo Rey Comminty Center.
These students are preparing for their first semester on campus. Raising children is a difficult job a lot of parents say that they cannot wait for their children to fly the coop. But when that time finally comes, some parents find themselves feeling sad, lonely, and even depressed.

With great sadness, we are passing on the news that our beloved and enormously gifted poet, teacher and mentor to many, Trinidad Sanchez, Jr., died on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. TX. He was such a loving man, gentle spirit and leader. His words and laughter will live on forever. The poet, activist and teacher must live on in all of us!
