Approximately, 1.5 million women are victims of physical abuse in this country and an estimated 1 in 4 women will experience some form of partner violence in their lifetime. Recent statistics on domestic violence demonstrate that he rates of abuse by intimate partners in the Black community is significantly higher than in any other group.

BATH, MI — Almost 400 people walked through the doors to support “It’s a Breast Thing” fundraiser. The mission of this non-profit is to provide women in the Greater Lansing Area with resources regarding breast cancer. The funds raised will stay in the community (Eaton, Ingham, Clinton and Shiawasee) for diagnosing and treating breast health issues. They also have support from a number of other physicians and businesses in the community.

STRAWBERRY
BALSAMIC FILET OF BEEF
2 cups strawberries, sliced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 (6 ounce) beef tenderloin filets
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon chilled butter
freshly ground black pepper to taste
Mix together the strawberries, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar in a bowl, and allow to sit for 1 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
