I’m driving home from work. It’s already dark, and the rain is pelting the windshield. In the backseat, I have my workout bag. In less than a mile, I have a decision to make. Do I turn left and go to the gym, or do I continue to drive straight and go home? Then the rationalizations start. What’s the big deal if I miss one workout? I can exercise extra hard tomorrow. My body and my mind are all pleading with me to skip the workout, but I decide to turn left because I gave myself a unique and powerful gift.
Mighty Medicine is having their CD Release Show Saturday, from 8pm-11pm July 23rd at The Creole Gallery (1218 Turner Street, Old Town Lansing). Mighty Medicine has been a power soul, rock, reggae, jazz, blues duo for two years, performing over 400 venues since June of 2009. Members DeShaun Sparkle Snead (vocals and percussion) and Larry Neuhardt (guitar) are excited about the release of their second album.

LANSING, MI — Leola Taylor, who is known in the neighborhood as “Queen Mother Nana Lee” and to the community as “Lee Taylor”, knew something was brewing but could not quite put her finger on it. All of the questions from family members and covert activities had her suspicious but she did not find out that her loved ones planned a special 70th birthday party until she walked through the doors of the room.

Anyone who has ever worked in an office will certainly be able to identify with the insane antics of beleaguered workers Nick (Jason Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day) and Kurt (Jason Sudeiki), who are completely miserable in their jobs.
