I just wanted to get an ice cream cone. During the summer, I love going to different places and try out their ice cream. I will go to any soft serve place just for a small vanilla ice cream cone.

He was already a well known performer when I was born. He and his family captured the ears of many people and did not let go. I only heard bits and pieces of their uprising in the music world. It was not until I visited relatives in Maryland that began to really hear what others had been hearing for a while. It was the summer of 1983.

“Lansing sucks.” I have heard that for years about the Lansing area and I believed it. People would talk about how there is nothing to do. I began to realize that I just was not looking in the right places. Within the last few years there has been a surge of various forms of entertainment. I know, I know, we are a long way from being a great Mecca such as Los Angeles, New York City or Atlanta but I am one that definitely appreciates what Lansing has to offer for little cost. The beauty of being in a small city with big city attributes is cheaper cost of living, ease of travel, convenience and opportunity.

The sky wept on the earth as it opened a chasm of daylight. Slowly, like time broken down into half pasts, then minutes as I pondered the ticking of time down to seconds. I exhaled and turned into the driveway of the cemetery of Chapel Hill. I recalled my meeting with a mother, Vivian Bodiford, who was still in an conscious state of shock that her only son had been murdered.

My most memorable experiences on the campaign trail are starting to pile up. I will probably have many memorable experiences but I have been taken in and loved by some in the complexes that we have in Lansing for the senior citizens and the disabled.
