Crash in Ingham County Claims Life of Young Girl, Sheriff’s Office Seeks Witnesses

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, just before 7 am Delhi Fire came upon a crash that had just occurred between two SUVs, at the intersection of Holt and College Roads.  Responding deputies arrived and learned that a 20-year-old Holt woman was eastbound and initiated a northbound turn in the path of a westbound SUV, driven by a 40-year-old Onondaga man.  The two vehicles collided, sending the westbound vehicle off the road and striking a utility pole.  The 40-year-old man was transporting his three children, ages 7 (male), 11 (female), and 13 (female).  All four were transported to an area hospital for seemingly non-life-threatening injuries. The at-fault driver did not necessitate medical attention.

Ingham County Sheriff’s investigator conducted a follow-up a few hours later and learned from the father his 13-year-old daughter required emergency surgery and was in a critical state.  Overnight we received the tragic news that the young lady had died.  Ingham County Sheriff Accident Investigators continue to gather evidence and information.
