Do you have an opinion? 7-6

Rina,

I am writing to thank you for publishing the article you did about my wrongful conviction in The New Citizens Press.  The layout was great.  I am especially grateful that you printed the story on the front page above-the fold.  That was a powerful statement.

I am optimistic that the publicity and support we are receiving is going to transform into generating much needed support.  It will also increase awareness about the issues of wrongful convictions and the imposition of life without parole sentences on children.

There are some great things on the horizon.  The possibility of receiving a public hearing to consider my release in the next few months is very realistic.  Perhaps that would be something you will be interested in covering.  We are planning a large turn-out if that occurs, with perhaps more people than have ever attended a public hearing for a prisoner in MDOC history.  We will continue to keep you abreast of new developments.

When I am eventually released I will certainly remember all those who helped us build a strong public relations campaign.  While your publication may not have the same circulation size as some of the daily periodicals you set a high standard for yourself and do a wonderful job with each issue of The New Citizens Press that you publish.

It has been my experience over the years that aspiring for greatness will lead you there.  Remain steadfast in your efforts to continue thriving and rest assured that you will reach your dreams.  You, your family, and staff are in my prayers.  Thanks again Rina!

Sincerely,

Efren Pardes
