Black fathers frame
The center of our lives –
Giving us assurances
With God we will survive
Black fathers know
Pain from what
They’ve been denied,
But they keep pressing
On, they have families
To raise. . . .
Black fathers are
Strong, despite difficult lives.
They’ve
Envisioned for us,
What they never
Envisioned for themselves.
They keep pressing on. . . with
Their lessons of love.
Black fathers are symbols of
Racial pride,
Dignity, eloquence,
Brave souls magnified. . .
