Recently, I went to the “Homegoing Celebration” for Anna Atwood-Stuckey. Mother Atwood as she was affectionately known at our church, passed away at the age of 107. She has held a special place in my heart since I was a youngster. She would give my sister and I raisins or candy every Sunday. She always had a smile and kind word for anyone she met.

When we went in the building we were given a gate manifest form and we listed what we were bringing in with us; a note pad, two pens and five sheets of paper. It was 1:13 p.m. and we stayed in the waiting room until they called us to go through the gates. The metal door clanged behind us.
