I’ve got a tax tip that won’t save you any money, but it will save you something far more valuable: time. The IRS says the average American spends 21.4 hours completing a 1040 tax return. It’s this “hidden” tax — the sacrifice of not your dollars but your other eight hours — that you can reduce. And the good news is this tax tip won’t increase your risk of an IRS audit.

Is the real estate market a good investment for retirement? I haven’t fielded that question in at least five years, but over the past six weeks, I have been pleasantly surprised by the number of people who are reconsidering real estate as a source of steady income.

The city of Lansing is home to approximately 115,000 African-Americans. It’s also the home of a rich African-American culture, where family history can be traced all the way to the country’s birth, while also witnessing its momentous historical events.

School is out for the summer, but that doesn’t mean that families are any less busy. Soon the calendar will fill up with hobbies, lessons, camps and trips-all great ways to spend the summer. But one thing kids should always include on the list is reading. Studies have shown that those who don’t read over the summer lose some of their skills and fall behind their peers who do read.
