Souls to the Polls Trick-or-Treat: A Halloween Voting Education Event Hosted by Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope and Partnering Organizations

LANSING, MI – The Lansing City Clerk’s Office and multiple community organizations are organizing a Halloween-themed event to promote voter participation and citizen engagement called Souls to the Polls Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from1-4 pm at Reo Elections Office 1221 Reo Rd.

The Reo Elections Office Gym will transform into a trick-or-treating experience. The public is invited to walk through and collect treats and trinkets from over 12 vendors. We will also invite families to participate in a mock Halloween special election. It is a fun, non-partisan event for the entire family.

Voters of all ages will also be able to participate in a mock Halloween special election using real tabulators to learn the voting process by voting for their favorite Halloween character, favorite candy, and a “proposal” about sharing candy with children who are unable to go out trick-or-treating.

At the same time, the Elections Office will be open for early voting, voting registration, and/or dropping off their completed absentee ballots just down the hall from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Any registered voter in Lansing has the right to vote early in person up to and on Election Day.

For more information about voting, please visit lansingvotes.gov or contact the Lansing City Clerk’s Office at (517) 483-4131.
