Dr. LaKeeya  Kilee Dotson Tucker,
Alliance Obstetrician/ Gynecologist

Dr. LaKeeya  Kilee Dotson Tucker wanted to be a physician since she was in the second grade. Her childhood physician and friend of the family, Dr. Robert Naples inspired her.

Dr. Tucker was born in Camden, N.J. to Veronica and Donald Dotson. She was raised in Youngstown, OH and attended Youngstown State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. She then went on to graduate from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Erie, PA with a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree.

Her internship and residency in Ob/Gyn was completed at St. John Detroit Riverveiw Hospital in Detroit, MI in 2002. She started private Ob/Gyn at Alliance OB/GYN, PLLC at that time. She continues her work there and enjoys it very much.

When asked about how Dr. Tucker felt about joining the Alliance group she said with a warm smile, ” I am pleased to be a part of the Alliance Ob/Gyn family. I feel that I am bringing diversity to the group. Also, I have innovative ideas, I am very energetic, and skilled in women’s health care.”

Being in the field of medicine is very difficult and takes perseverance. Dr. Tucker says she would tell children who are thinking about becoming a doctor that, “They can do anything they put their minds to. They need to do well in their studies and stay focused on their goals. They should not believe anyone who tells them that they are not good enough or smart enough.”

There were many times when Dr. Tucker was in training that she thought about giving up, but she had a good support system to keep her going.

Dr. Tucker said, “My advice to others is to pray for strength and utilize any support or mentors available. If there is no one readily available in the family, ask a counselor or leader in the church or community. Don’t stop asking until you find someone supportive.”

Her mentors are Dr. Bruce West, Dr. Emile Sandelin, Dr. Cheryl Gibson, Dr. George Shade, and Dr. Renita Barge.  She also states that her husband has also been EXTREMELY supportive and is a HUGE part of family stability, along with their strong faith in GOD. Dr Tucker’s parents are also owed much credit for her success in life.  Dr. Tucker said, “I love the Ob/Gyn field because it is a fairly happy field, most of the time. Also, it is a challenging field with a multitude of disciplines (office, surgery, and delivery). I enjoy dealing with women’s health issues and being able to make a difference.”

She has special interests in abnormal uterine bleeding issues, including medical and surgical management of fibroids. She is offering Robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgical procedures, such as hysterectomies, fibroid removal, and  ovarian cyst/ ovary removal.  She is also highly skilled in office procedures such as ablations (Novasure), and ESSURE hysteroscopic tubal ligations.

Alliance Ob/Gyn’s goal is to deliver the full spectrum of health care to women from all walks of life, working on the premise that equal participation in decision-making process leads to optimal health. The Alliance health care team is  accepting new patients.

Dr. Tucker has attended Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church since 2002. She is married to Larry and has two children, Kianna, 4 and Kenneil, 1. She also has 4 loving stepchildren; Mario, Chantella, D’Vone and D’mon.
