Dear Mrs. Risper,
I recently volunteered at a fundraiser held at Woldumar Nature Center’s – “Chili” Winter Evening event. I was one of the lucky students from Eastern High School students in the National Honor Society that got to volunteer. I am a senior.
We served some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They made my job super easy and fun. They had great chili and other food to warm the guests up, they even had a live band. The Powerlight Band was really great, they sang some Temptations songs, Marvin Gaye, and Smoky Robinson just all around great Motown Music. They even had dance lessons.
It was a fundraiser for the Nature Center and they had many unique items.
This whole adventure gave me insight into a generation, how they grew up, and also what kind of music they listened to. I hope that others will take the opportunity out of their busy days to not only give back to the community, but to also learn and have a little fun while they do it.
Sincerely,
Clarisa Trevino
